On November 28th, five Belle Chasse HOSA members participated in their annual tree decorating event at Riverbend nursing home. HOSA members decorated a Christmas Tree and helped all residents place their ornaments on the tree. They also brought gift cards to the residents who were unable to go to the tree. After decorating the tree, they talked to the residents as well as sang Christmas carols.
The American Stroke Association is looking for ideas for their F.A.S.T. Song. Louisiana HOSA Chapters are encouraged to put together their own videos singing the F.A.S.T. song. All Chapters who submit a video will be given HOSA Cup points and their video will be submitted to the American Stroke Association. On November 21, Belle Chasse HOSA Member Alexis Babcock represented Louisiana HOSA at the 2015 Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE) Vision Conference. Alexis enjoyed helping at the National HOSA booth and learning about leadership from the National Officers.

For HOSA week, Jennings HOSA showed appreciation for their school nurse. She travels between a few schools in the parish and is frequently overlooked. JHS HOSA members decorated her office door, gave her a signed thank you card, and a $25 gift card to Starbucks. During morning announcements, HOSA thanked her again for her continued service and everything she does.
Belle Chasse HOSA hosted their annual Veterans Day program for local military vets. The program consisted of 3 "Talking to the Vets" mini sessions. "Talking to the Vets" is a gathering in the auditorium with the whole school where they thanked each veteran. They had a band and art work created by their very own talented students. After the assembly, they catered lunch with the veterans.
On the final day of their HOSA week, Belle Chasse HOSA chose to do "Scrubs Day". HOSA members were allowed to wear scrubs for the day. When asked why they were wearing scrubs, they had to explain what their career goals were and the schooling needed to achieve these goals.
