HOSA Attends the NAP Convention
September 4-7, National HOSA Region II Vice President Julius Wade and Immediate Past Chair Jane Shovlin attended the National Association of Parliamentarians 40th Biennial Convention at the Crystal Gateway Marriott Hotel in Arlington, Virginia.
NAP members and partner organization members gathered to:
participate in over 40 educational workshops
Third National Youth Day
mastering the Business Meeting
forum to discuss education and credentialing and the proposed bylaws changes, and
unequaled networking with parliamentarians from around the world.
Four of the seven student representatives from NAP’s six national youth partners attended the NAP convention and are pictured: representing BPA-Eugene Otero; FBLA-Vanessa Ting; HOSA-Future Health Professionals-Julius Wade; and SkillsUSA-Edgardo Correa.
Also pictured are Julius and Ms. Shovlin as well as Julius with Henry M. Robert III, grandson of General Robert. Mr. Robert’s III began his association with Robert's Rules of Order Newly Revised when he assisted his mother, Sarah Corbin Robert, in writing the 1970 edition. He holds degrees in the Great Books Program of St. John's College in Annapolis and in physics. He has served as Parliamentarian of the National Association of Parliamentarians.
