Peyton Pipher, Louisiana HOSA State Vice President, traveled to Washington, D.C. this past week to attend HOSA's Washington Leadership Academy (WLA).
After a successful, amazing time, he had the following to say:
"I was honored and privileged to represent Louisiana HOSA on Capitol Hill throughout the past few days. On Tuesday, I met with staffers and aides from Representatives Abraham & Higgins, along with staffers from Senators Kennedy and Cassidy. We successfully advocated for thereauthorization of the Perkin's Act which funds CTSOs across the country. The representatives (who already passed the bill) were super supportive! Louisiana HOSA, along with many other CTE programs in Louisiana, depend on this funding to run our programs. The aides for Congressman Abraham and Congressman Kennedy's were very helpful in providing us with detailed information, excessive support, and gallery passes to visit the Senator Chamber Gallery to view the session yesterday. I was honored and blessed to represent the great state of Louisiana and all of our wonderful members."
