Every year, thousands of HOSA members gather for the HOSA National Leadership Conference (NLC). The only words to describe NLC are “Olympics for Healthcare.” NLC offers members Educational Symposiums, Networking Opportunities, and over 55 Competitive Events. It is a place to meet new people, learn leadership skills, and dive deep into the Nation’s healthcare.
This year, NLC was held in Anaheim, California. The attendance was over 8,500 strong. Our biggest yet! Louisiana HOSA was represented by 40 of our members, advisors, and family members. Our members created a lifetime of memories by competing in events, attending workshops, visiting the expo, and by taking advantage of the HOSA University class for members and advisors.
We would like to think the following people for representing Louisiana HOSA in various roles:
Shirlene Bender, State Advisor, represented Louisiana on the Competitive Events Committee as a Lieutenant.
Brittney Bradford, State Program Specialist, represented Louisiana as NLC Conference Staff, the Project Display Coordinator, and the Event Manager for Transcultural Healthcare Event.
Tracey Graham, Belle Chasse Advisor, represented Louisiana as the Quality Assurance Personnel for Transcultural Healthcare Event and participated in the Hypnosis Show on stage.
Carmon Simon, Lafayette High Advisor, represented Louisiana as the Event Assistant for Transcultural Healthcare Event and participated in the Hypnosis Show on stage.
Charlyne Peltier, Rayne High, represented Louisiana as a Voting Delegate.
Bethany Randell, Lafayette High, represented Louisiana as a Voting Delegate.
